FM 102.1 Milwaukee’s Verge Music Fest

March 10, 2010

Verge Music Fest is the name that FM102.1 fans settled on today. the New festival will be held at the Henry Maier Festival Park, Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5. It will replace Sewer Splash. Check out the official Verge Website here.

The BizJournal has the info on the results of the voting and the woman behind the name.

[T]he name Verge received 37 percent of the vote, edging out the 35 percent received by Parallel. A third finalist, Diatonic, won 28 percent of the votes.

The creator of the winning submission is Milwaukee-area resident Katie Kostuck. The naming contest winner will receive a VIP experience at the festival, including roundtrip air fare for two, hotel accommodations in Milwaukee, tickets to the festival, an assigned parking space, VIP hospitality access, backstage passes, meet and greets with artists, signed merchandise from the bands, and a themed profile on Summerfest.com and the new festival’s Web site.

The list of bands that will be at the event include headliners Three Days Grace on Friday, with Weezer and AFI  on Saturday. I’d go see Weezer.

Other bands announced so far include Crash Kings, Eagles of Death Metal, Cold War Kids, The Raveonettes, Rogue Wave, She & Him, Nico Vega, Reni Lane, Jaill, The Championship, Figureheads, Geri X, Pezzettino, 1956, Red Knife Lottery, Invade Rome, Revision Text and Juniper Tar.

Tickets are on sale now. $25 per day or $40 for two days in advance and include a free weekday Summerfest ticket. $35 at the gate.
